​Please find below our terms and conditions. You should read them carefully and print out a copy for your future reference. Please note that our commitment to customer satisfaction and our reputation is of utmost importance to us and we will always endeavour to help. 

 

YOUR QUOTATION AND ACCEPTANCE

You will receive a quotation detailing your wedding cake design and all relevant information via email.

Please confirm by signing and returning this to us with your non-refundable booking fee.

All orders are subject to acceptance by us and we will confirm acceptance of date via email and send you a receipt for any monies paid. 

 

DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS

The price of your cake will be detailed in your quotation and any delivery charges (set up of your cake is included) will also be shown. Full payment is due in cash or cleared funds (cheque or BACS) 4 weeks before the delivery or collection date as shown in your quotation.

Prices are liable to change at any time, but any changes will not affect orders that we have already accepted.  Dates will be held once your deposit is received.  Quotations should be accepted within one month or will lapse. 

 

STORING YOUR CAKE

After delivery or collection, you must ensure that your cake is kept out of sunlight and at room temperature. Cakes with sugarpaste should not be put in a refrigerator. Care should be taken to put cakes in marquees as close to guest arrival time as possible as marquees become very warm on hot days.  Stacked cakes will be supported by dowels, which should be removed prior to serving. Any elements of your cake, which are not edible, will be clearly highlighted on your confirmation form. We ask you to take responsibility for ensuring these are removed prior to serving, as we cannot take any responsibility for the non-edible items once the confirmation form has been signed. 

 

STAND HIRE

Cake and cupcake stand hire is available at request and the cost of this will be added to your order please note we do require a security deposit on all our stand and this will be fully refunded when we receive the cakes stands back, clean and in the same condition they were hired in.  If you wish for us to collect the stand from the venue, please tell us so during the booking process. This can be arranged and will be charged according to the distance between the venue and our studio.

 

RETURNING HIRED EQUIPMENT

Please make sure you return your stand in a way in which you would like to receive it for your wedding.

You can send your stand back via Royal Mail, Courier or get a family member to drop it off if you are going away on honeymoon.  Please return our stand within 3 days of hire and obtain proof of posting from the Post Office. We advise that you use a recorded / insured postal service to the appropriate value of your deposit.  On safe return of your stand we will contact you to arrange the return of your deposit. If the stand is not received back within the allotted time, or is received in an unfit condition or with any pieces missing, we will retain the whole deposit. An unfit condition includes gouges, cracks and deep scratches, very light scratching is accepted.

 

Deposit cheques will be refunded upon return of the undamaged, complete stand.

FOOD ALLERGIES

We can accommodate dietary requirements and will happily discuss these with you. However our cakes are produced in a kitchen where nuts, flour (gluten) and dairy products are used. We cannot guarantee that traces of these ingredients will not be in a cake.

 

CAKE DELIVERY

Please ensure that you give us the full address with postcode, along with a contact name and telephone number.  We cannot be held responsible for late deliveries that are due to incorrect/incomplete information.

We will always arrange a delivery (and set up) in good time to allow for any disaster that may delay delivery. We cannot be held responsible for any delays during transit.

 

CANCELLATIONS

You may cancel your order by writing to us any time up to 1 month before the delivery or collection date as detailed in your quotation. Any monies already paid will be refunded less your £100 non-refundable booking fee within 1 month.

 

If you cancel your order less than 1 month before the agreed delivery or collection date the full quoted price will become immediately due for payment.

 

OUR LIABILITY

Our liability to you is limited to the price of the cake and we cannot be held responsible for any indirect losses which may happen as a consequence of any breach by us of these terms however arising. However, this does not include or limit in any way our liability for any matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude, or attempt to exclude, our liability.

 

EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL

We cannot be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under these terms that is caused by any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control.

 

REVISIONS TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions. However, you will be subject to the terms and conditions in force at the time that you place your order with us.

OUR TERMS & CONDITIONS

DEPOSIT
A £100 non-refundable deposit is required within a week of booking to hold the date of your cake. Without the deposit, we will not hold your date. Priority will be given to the paying customer.

FINAL PAYMENT
The balance of all cakes is due 4 weeks prior to the date required. If payment is not received by the due date, the cake maybe cancelled.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
The initial deposit is non-refundable and non-transferrable under any circumstance due to the time already spent on consultation and any loss of business due to your booking preventing further bookings on that date.

In the event of a cancellation the following charges will apply:
– From booking until 8 weeks before event- deposit retained
– Between 8 weeks to 4 weeks before event- deposit retained and half the outstanding balance to be paid. – From 4 weeks before the event- full payment required.

We will retain the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, such as fire, ill health we will in this instance refund money taken in full.

OUTSIDE EVENTS
Any cake placed outside during an event has the possibility of melting or deforming in heat. We are not liable for a cake once they have been delivered or collected.

CAKE LOCATION
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure the venue supply a suitable table and location for the cake to be displayed. Once again, we are not liable for the cake once delivered or collected.

DELIVERY
The cost and set up at the venue is included in the price quoted. If the venue location is changed and of a further distance, additional charges may apply. Although care is taken when transporting your cake, damages in transit can happen. We carry special cake repair kits for circumstances where damage may occur. All cakes will be repaired at the venue as close to the original design as possible. We cannot be held liable for any damage that is rendered to the cake at the venue once we have left the premises. It is with this in mind that we require somebody responsible, to check that they are happy with the cake before we leave.

PICK UP
If you choose to collect your cake and transport it yourself, we are not liable or responsible for the cake once it has left our premises. You should ensure your vehicle is clean and tidy before collection and we recommend a non-slip mat placed underneath. We do everything in our power to provide a well-structured cake, but please note, cakes can be very fragile so you must drive carefully and slowly.

DESIGN AND ALTERATION
It is your responsibility to read and check the quote thoroughly, any amendments should be made in writing. If requested, we will endeavour to adjust the design where possible, but sometimes this is not possible according to the nature of the request or amount of notice given. If the alterations affect the cost, or preparation work of the original design already undertaken, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly. We reserve the right to change the design at any point if the circumstances beyond our control, may compromise the quality of the finished cake. e.g melting due to weather. Each cake is made individually by hand, so although every effort is made to ensure consistency a small amount of variation may occur.

ALLERGIES & SPECIAL DIETRY REQUIREMNETS
Please discuss with us if any of your guests have special requirements. Cakes can be made gluten free, diary free, alcohol free or without nuts by request. But please be aware cakes are baked in a kitchen that uses these ingredients. Cakes can also be contaminated at the venue via other products, which we cannot control.

NON-EDIBLE ITEMS
Most cakes contain small amounts of inedible items, it is the clients responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption, e.g support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, wires in sugar flowers, brooches & crystals, flower picks & flower tape (where fresh flowers are used).

HIRE OF CAKE STANDS & ACCESSORIES
If you would like to hire a cake stand or decorations, then it is your responsibility to ensure a deposit is provided (as a separate payment), otherwise it shall be presumed that you do not require it and the item will not be left at your reception. The deposit for one of our cake stands varies dependant on the value of the item. Please make arrangements to ensure the stand is safely returned within 3 days of your event.

COMPLAINTS
If you have any concerns about your cake, please notify us upon delivery so that we have the opportunity to rectify it in time for your event. All other concerns should be in writing, and evidence of the fault should be included. A refund is only given if the uneaten cake is returned to us, and is unsuitable for consumption or not as described in the written quote. No refunds are given due to change of mind. In the unlikely event of a late delivery (defined as delivery after the start of the wedding breakfast) the maximum compensation will be 10% of the full cost. We ask for patience with factors that may be beyond our control (e.g traffic conditions) as we cannot be held liable for any such delays.
